Uzbekistan starts to buy electric cars more often

In January-August 2022, Uzbekistan imported 1,499 electric vehicles from abroad worth US$46.4 million, the State Statistics Committee said.

This year, imports of electric vehicles increased by 1,003 units compared to the corresponding period in 2021.

Countries from which Uzbekistan imported the largest number of electric vehicles in January-August of this year:

China – 1,300 units

UAE - 110

Germany - 34

Hong Kong - 30

Other countries - 19

Uzbekistan imports 122 electric vehicles in January

In 2021, 809 electric vehicles worth US.9 million were imported to Uzbekistan from 11 foreign countries. Compared to 2020, imports of electric vehicles increased by 679 units, or 6.2 times.
